Steven Spielberg and Autor Theory.

Steven Spielberg is classed as an author director, We can see this through him having a favour of shots.

Spielberg is a huge fan of tracking shots. He uses these in many films.

.
He uses this style of tracking to show a significant moment in a characters story.

He also uses Side tracking a lot in his films too!
This shot creates a lot of visual texture in the film creating a more interesting moment in the film.

Spielberg also frames objects through strange foreground images for example:

Using this shot creates avery intimate feel to the audience as if spying on the character. Continuing the framing spielberg also likes to frame things in circles.
Another thing Spielberg uses is the power of mirrors to create the power of a character for example:

Recurring Themes

A recurring theme for Spielberg is family and the destruction. Because his mother and father got divorced when he was young his mother and 2 sisters moved away while he went to high school.

He also always recurses something back to world war 2
On screen performers usually stare at something off screen
He often uses images of the sun.
He often references to disney films, music and theme parks.
