We Wrote a brief template and sent it to our client to fill out, Once she had done this we arranged a meeting with her to discuss the ideas and project further. It was decided that a lot of the creative decisions would be left to us, there fore we didn't feel the need to negotiate ideas.
How did you work as a team and within the agreed timescale?
Our client was aware of our short deadline for the project and was more than happy and helpful to arrange the meetings as soon as possible. We worked well as a team by our use of communication we kept every one informed of the decisions and plans as they went along.
What constraints were there – time/financial/locations/legal/artistic differences?
I felt our biggest constraint was time, I believe had we been given more time our video would have been a lot better. The locations where also a big problem as being in a class room can be loud and busy and not big enough to fit the camera on its tripod.
Was the finished product as good as what you thought it was going to be? If so why, if not, why not?
I think this was an okay production, I feel the visual aspects where very pleasing to the client and potential viewers but the audio had some problems though out due to the environment we where filming and recording in.
What feedback did you receive from Facebook, Youtube and your client?
Our client said that the video was kept on topic but still got the point across. She wanted one shot changed so once that was sorted out she was fully happy with the product. People on Facebook and YouTube said it was shot well and was kept fun but informative.
What kind of briefs have you worked with and what was the most effective?
I personally prefer a verbal brief because then and their you can see what they are looking for and you can discuss straight away the pro's and con's to the suggestions they have asked for. There is no miscommunication via a written brief and no confusing emails.
How effective was communication between you and the client and you and your team? What strategies did you use to achieve this? What strategies could you use to improve? What obstacles were there and how did you overcome them?
I think the communication was ok. The communication between our team was very good as we saw each other a lot and are both good at replying to emails promptly. However it was often quite hard to get hold of our client as she is very busy. It could have been improved by possibly knowing where her office is so we could pop by whenever we needed to talk to her as we could often wait up to a week for a reply.I also feel that the organisation with some tutors and their awareness of us filing their class hadn't been made clear, and the fact that we had to provide the proof that each individual student was willing to be filmed was not a professional environment
Name three things about the final project that you are pleased with
1) Interviews with students and teachers
2) Dynamic shots
3) Music choice
Name three things you would want to improve
1) quality of sound in some interviews
2) More film time for improved shots
3) diverse of classes willing to be filmed.
